CTS research centers on developing strategies and techniques to improve transportation systems and operations for communities’ mobility, accessibility and safety. We link innovative data with both traditional and emerging data analytics to develop local, regional and statewide analysis and solutions. Oftentimes, the innovative data coincides with hidden problems (e.g. underserved populations, older adults, bicyclists and pedestrians). These hidden problems often receive less attention from transportation agencies or in the case of underserved populations are completely ignored. Our unique and extensive interdisciplinary research experience not only with one another, but with computer science, industrial engineering, urban planning, public policy, biology and economics allows the CTS team to expand and strengthen research capabilities.
